Invisalign® treatment is designed to align your teeth solely by wearing a series of transparent aligners that are virtually invisible and painless. An orthodontic treatment plan is first drawn up by your orthodontist to “create your future smile”. If your situation lends itself to treatment with Invisalign® aligners, your Invisalign® aligners are digitally fabricated using an optical impression made with an intraoral camera to model your teeth in three dimensions, and then sent to the Centre Médico-Dentaire Balexert. Orthodontic treatment involves wearing a predetermined number of aligners. Each aligner is worn for approximately two weeks. Thanks to its elasticity, the Invisalign® aligner applies pressure to your teeth, which are gradually repositioned throughout the treatment.

The aligner is made of transparent composite, making it virtually transparent. It’s tailor-made for your teeth, and features elasticity to correct the position of your teeth.

Orthodontic treatment with Invisalign® aligners is virtually invisible and more aesthetically pleasing. No rings, brackets, archwires or wires are visible. The entire series of aligners is made-to-measure and therefore perfectly adapted to your mouth, giving a good sense of comfort. Unlike conventional fixed orthodontic treatment with rings and brackets, there’s no risk of injury to soft tissues (lips, cheeks, palate or tongue), no risk of material breaking or becoming detached, and consequently much less risk of having to seek emergency treatment. Invisalign® aligners are removable for meals, so you can eat whatever you like. They also need to be removed for hygiene care, which can be continued as normal. Your dental check-ups can also be carried out as normal, without any bonded material in the mouth, making screening more complicated.

Orthodontic treatment with Invisalign® changes the shape of the dental arches. As they are located between the nose and the chin, altering the shape of the jaws could still lead to a change in the shape of your face.

The speed of treatment depends on the malocclusion to be corrected. Some tooth movements will be quicker with Invisalign® , while other tooth movements will be quicker and easier with braces. The orthodontist’s diagnosis will determine which solution is the most suitable and fastest, depending on the objectives to be achieved and your wishes.

The length of treatment depends on the complexity of the treatment and the number of aligners needed to achieve the goals, as well as your compliance with the aligners. At your first orthodontic consultation, our specialist will be able to give you an estimate of treatment time.

To prevent recurrence, it’s important to wear a retainer after orthodontic treatment, either in the form of bonded wires or aligners.

You may feel a sensation of pressure at the start of treatment and each time you change aligners. This sensation is perfectly normal and fades over time, generally remaining below the pain threshold.
